Default Oil & turbo engines....

This Bulletin was posted last year by ForcedPerformance.com. Their main market is 4 cylinder turbo cars but the data should apply across the board. Thought it was a good read and has good info on the better oils options for FI engines.

Good read. I wish my local stores carried 10-30 VR1, they only have 20-50. Brad Penn can be found cheap on ebay, so I might buy some more of that stuff...

I run the royal purple oil good stuff so far no fails that I know of. One thing tho the one I use is the reg full synthetic kind that you can get at the auto store not the full racing oil. I should be fine right?

I run amsoil full synthetic 5w-30 and will probably just up it to the 10w-30 when I put the turbo on. Might try their dominater racing oil.

I'd say get whatever filter the oil manufacturer recommends for the oil you want to use.

Well this article takes my questions and answers it.

While were on the turbo and oil subject, how much oil pressure is too much? I am at 80psi at WOT to the engine. When I put the turbo on I don't want to blow out the seals. Anyone used one of the inline restrictors?
O.P. Sorry for hijacking the thread
