im going to be putting my turbo right where the y-pipe meets up. i am going to tap the inlet into the part above the oil filter and run the return through the cap. since the turbo will be pretty much level with the oil pan will i need an external oil pump or will it flow enough with the way it is.

Yes I think that you will need a return oil pump or you will end up with oil coming out of the seals on the impeller shaft in the turbo housing. It will drip from the compressor housing and be blown out the exhaust. At least that is what mine does if the pump is not running. The STS has a return pump in the line between the turbo housing and the oil cap. They run it at two speeds by varying the voltage. It runs at the lower speed under normal operation and at the higher speed under boost. I also have a switch to put it on the higher speed when starting the truck when it is cold and the oil is thicker.

STS takes the tap from the grey fuel pump wire in the under the hood electrical panel to switch the relay to the oil pump. Take the cover off and then remove the plastic cover from the panel and you will see the grey wire coming out the side toward the engine along with a bunch of other wires. Sorry no pics.

If you are looking for a pump this is the one I was going to use. http://www.1speedway.com/Oil_Pumps.htm

I've seen that pump before, but I just worry that 1-2gpm is not enough. Does anyone know what the STS pump flows, and where to get it? You might be better off just buying thier pump, relay, and pressure switch setup.
