This is a terrible idea. Use a -10an to 1/2npt i believe, cant remember what mine was exactly. Npt threads are tapered which is what you need in the pan. I posted a pic of mine a few weeks ago, ill repost later when im not on my phone.

I put mine just above the oil level sensor. I pulled the pan to drill and tap mine.

pulled the pan and put mine in the front of the pan under the crank pulley.
