New Plan - TVS1900 and ?Long Tube Headers?
#1
Dropped off the Denali XL today at the shop. Turns out they gave me the wrong information on Saturday and can't install a TVS 2300 on an 07 Denali XL, only a TVS 1900. Fine. They are really trying to convince me to get long tube headers as well, but I am not convinced they are worth the extra $2500 or so.
What gain am I looking at for $2500? 20hp? 40hp? 60 hp? More? Less?
Thanks to those who have experimented with their pocketbooks before me.

they make a difference but i wouldnt have them do it for that price u can buy pacsetter or whatever brand u want for half that price and install them yourself there easy to do

They CAN install a 2300, theyre the same damn system with a little larger compressor bolted to the SAME manifold. And there is no way Id pay 2500 for headers. They dont make even a 1000 dollar difference. Use a smaller pulley and get the same power gain for 100 bucks.

Back to the original plan, except this time with a TVS 1900. No headers. Keep that money for some nice shiny rims next summer!
Thanks much.

They are all the same configuration from 2007-2011. Nothing has changed that would restrict you to the 1900 rather than the 2300. Just FYI. The only difference would be the tuning; if they can't do that for you (I can't see why not) there are plenty of guys out there who will.

As it is though, I made the call today to just do the TVS1900, without the long tube headers. All of the research that I have done on the web, and talking with various mechanics, seems to indicate the bang for the buck (20hp for $2500) is just not there. I believe the Dynatech longtubes would probably be more dramatic on their own with a tune, but I think some of the gain gets meshed with the S/C gain when paired together. That is my assumption anyways where I see approximately a 20hp gain when comparing advertised packages with a S/C alone or a S/C with headers.
And if I am wrong, I can always go headers once my funds build back up again.
Thanks for the info, wish I had known more so I could have asked why exactly the TVS 2300 would not fit - perhaps it is the tuning issue.

It would really depend on your future plans whether you're better off with the 1.9 or the 2.3. The 1900 will be awesome, and if you get bored you can pulley and tune it and it will feel like a new truck again. If you anticipate getting bored with that, however, you may run into a problem getting much more than heat out of the 1900. You should be good to go for up to 650 at the crank though. The CTS-V runs a TVS1900 at 556/551 stone stock, and pullied Vs still gain up to 50rwhp from what I've seen.

If you want to just bolt on the blower & be done with it, the 1900 will do you just fine. If you're going to get addicted to boost, and want more & more later, go with the 2300.
Longtubes with with the blower will add more than 20 hp.....(but $2500 installed is highway robbery) Shop around.
Are you planning on a blower cam in the future?
