It would really depend on your future plans whether you're better off with the 1.9 or the 2.3. The 1900 will be awesome, and if you get bored you can pulley and tune it and it will feel like a new truck again. If you anticipate getting bored with that, however, you may run into a problem getting much more than heat out of the 1900. You should be good to go for up to 650 at the crank though. The CTS-V runs a TVS1900 at 556/551 stone stock, and pullied Vs still gain up to 50rwhp from what I've seen.
What boost is the CTS-V at stock to get to 556/551? My shop told me they were going to set boost around 7lbs, so my guess is I will come in around 500 hp at the crank, given that I am starting at 380 stock (although it does have a K&N and magnaflow catback already so maybe add 20 hp tops due to those two mods??
So maybe 510 - 520 when I get it back next week. A very good start. Still pumped that it was my wife demanding that we put a supercharger on it! Come a long way!

If you want to just bolt on the blower & be done with it, the 1900 will do you just fine. If you're going to get addicted to boost, and want more & more later, go with the 2300.
Longtubes with with the blower will add more than 20 hp.....(but $2500 installed is highway robbery) Shop around.
Are you planning on a blower cam in the future?

Anyways, thanks everyone, I feel good about my choice, and I can always bolt in headers and tubing later.

Your engine will have higher compression to start with than the V, which was built for boost from the start. This means that 10lbs of boost on your engine will make more power than the same boost level on the CTS-V, all else being equal. So trying to guess the power potential that way is an apples and oranges affair. However, I will say that you should have no problem meeting your goals with the 1.9.

If you choose top-quality headers like American Racing, the headers retail for $1400-1500, depending on the setup you choose. GM TRUCK 2007/2010 FULL SIZE
Other good brands like Kooks or Dynatech should be priced similarly. I'm biased towards ARH myself.
On to the labor...... The headers I listed above install in just a couple of hours, and they fit very well. Most shops around here have labor rates between $80-100 per hour. Even if your shops labor rate is $150(doubt it), and they charge 3 hours, that's only $450....
I sure hope this is helping you.

And the link you provided has given me even further comfort that I was only looking at about a 20 hp gain for that $2500 for headers, so I am quite happy I did not go that route.
