Seems to me this setup would be better actually. There is less hot side pipe getting to the turbo and stock manifolds are used which retain heat very well. I'd think with the exhaust only having to run downhill and not uphill to get to the turbo it might help too(minor but, hey) Both banks run directly into the turbo instead of one running into the other than to the turbo. On the exhaust side there is less pipe and no sharp bends directly off the exhaust housing.

All those things seems like advantages to me.

Ok been working on the NON crush set ups for LOWrides. And to tell you truth, blaaaa. I just do not like the way it turned out, and find it hard to sell to someone LOL. So here is the fix for that type of truck, if you find yourself bahaing your lower truck .
1PC of 3x3 thick wall square tubing about 12-14" or so. Bolt that to your crossmember, and no worries about crushing anything.

Goof. Heat on the intake side and of the turbo itself

But what you said is right -- the temp of the exhaust gas would be higher with this kit -- so better spooling.

Good for the warmer climates.
In eastern Canada, the winter, the slush, the salt!! The air filter would not stand a chance...oh well

Not sure but it might work on the 4x4. The pics make it look like the turbo is against the frame and low. I looked at some old 2500 pics with torision bar, and bar looks like it will be below the turbo.
Here are some more of the layout.
3" Turbo Inlet piping.

gate, final run the gate might be hanging off of DP for better clearancing and more ease in tranny pan removal. This is one of those things you just donot if you like the location until you built it. So we will be building another DP or SP and remounting gate and taking another look. Things like this always seems to give delays but the end product is worth the wait, I beleive.
