don't you have a side mount Kenne Bell? If so, totally different scenario. I really shouldn't have had them put cats in. They really wanted me to though. Didn't want to let it leave the shop knowing it was illegal. I can understand that. They claim the Random technologies cats flow very, very well. PLUS, I thought it would quiet the in cab noise by having them on there.

I know its a different all together, however my point was that if the compressor was to blame then I should have seen retarded IAT's with no intercooler. Just trying to figure out why yours are so high, ( Or maybe just reading high from location)

What kind of temps are at the inlet side of your heat exchanger? If possible can you do a run (dyno) with a heat gun to see if it is helping you at all or maybe a temporary coolant gauge installed inline while doing a road test. That would probably net you a better idea of where you iat's are at.

You and me both. Everything works they way it's suppose to except lack of power and high inlet temps. Probly a bad blower.

It's craziness. They market this blower to push 23lbs boost. That's great, but first off, you can't get to 23lbs boost without overspinning their blower and Second, you can't get to 23lbs boost without melting **** cause it makes so much heat.

Next time I hit a dyno I'm gonna unhook my cats and run open headers to see how much restriction they exhaust is.
We have 26lbs out of that blower on a Mustang. It's all about restriction that calculates boost.More backpressure-more boost. Obviously a low compression 408ci will eat alot of air before the boost pressure goes up.

It should move when the engine is turned off and you may hear a little air coming out, or not, but watch to see if the actuating arm is moving when turning the motor off. If not, it is either not working, or the line is not referenced properly."

I'm also thinking maybe using one of those Canton tanks designed for the Cobras would be a good idea. Someone on here with a TBSS recently posted up pics of the one he is using with his Radix. I also found someone on here using a CTS-V heat exchanger. It is twice the size of mine. Not sure where to get one other than the dealership.

Kenne Bell says to use a 30/70 mix of coolant/water. Anyone have any better ideas for proper mixture?

Lastly, as stated earlier, I need to move the filter. I'm thinking a Volant or SB because they are both fully enclosed other than the hole in the fender.
You will definately want to check the bypass. That is something I have though about as well. Do you have a Boost/Vac gauge? What sort of vac you you see at idle and cruise?

Trick Performance has a custom aluminum tank that fits in the upper left corner of our trucks (where the crap KB res currently is) and holds I believe 2 gallons. That is the one I am looking to get.

I am currently running around a 60/40 coolent/h2o mix with a bottle of Water Wetter only because the system didnt hold as much as I anticipated and used a gallon of coolant first. When I get a new tank, I may go straight water with a bottle of water wetter for corrosion protection. It rarely gets to freezing temps here plus the truck will be sleeping in the garage.

I do have a vac/boost gauge. At idle my vacuum is 10. I'm sure that is largely due to the cam. I just got a cam recommendation from Patrick G. 226/238 .609/.607" 115lsa +3 advance.

I forgot to ask if it will be the same cam if I up the compression. I'm pretty sure this is similar to what Slowhawk recommended to me on tech.

What's weird about the boost levels on these things is, when I went from the crap 3.5" intake tube supplied by kb to a 4" aluminum intake tube I picked up 1lb boost at wot. Charris had similar results. I thought he was smoking crack when he told me but it happened to me too.

side note. My god damn converter which shipped this past thursday from Reno, NV isn't going to be here until NEXT Monday. WTF? UPS Ground. That's friggin insane. 6 business days. WOW. So looks like I won't have my truck until at least next Tuesday now. I want to punch someone in the mouth.

I'm anxious to see if you pick up more flow and boost like I did from the cat removal. I was amazed on mine.

You do have a lot more cam than I do... mine idles at about 18 inches of vacuum.

lmao, I got another Yank SC3000 which means I'll be selling the SC3000 that is in there right now after I send it back to Yank to get cut and cleaned. Shipping transit time there and back was gonna be like 2 weeks. Insanity I say.
