ok, found out the conversion is $180, without trading in a jtube, so are stock 78mm jubes worth anything?

I made my 78 into a 90. I just cut the flange off, made a 90 flange, and welded it on. Any machine shop should be able to do this for you.

could I see some pics on how well it turned out? id like to keep it as cheap as possible, but Id also like it to look ok. did you just make a template for the holes on the 90mm tb?

There is no sense in making a 78 into a 90, then you still have a 78mm t/b with a flange. Sorry to say it but hp cost money, there is no cheap way. You also need a dr.x harness and that is around 210 new. I am going to do a 90mm on mine and i bought a used j tube for $90, t/b$ 200 brand new, and harness for another $200. So you there is no cheap way unless you find used parts for cheaper.
