Default measuring hot side backpressure

I've been wanting to do some analysis on my turbo setup to make sure I have my turbine housing and hot side piping sized correctly so I'm looking for a setup to measure the exhaust pressure.

What parts would I need to do this? It would be similar to a boost gauge but I need some way to isolate the hot exhaust from the gauge...maybe using a few feet of steel tubing connected to the hot side piping with an npt/compression fitting...

Any ideas from those who have done this already?

I'm getting ready to do this as well for my turpercharger compound project. My plan is to put a 1/8 NTP to 1/8 compression fitting into my manifold right before the turbo and then coil a couple feet of soft copper tubing, then to a vac line to a 0-30psi gauge I bought for $20 from Norther Tools. I will run in to the cab so I can watch it. This will only be a temp setup for tuning/info purposes and will remove it once I get the setup I want. I don't like a cluttered look in my truck.

Thanks for the info KB...I'm wanting to do the same thing (temporary setup) just to check that back pressure is not getting out of hand. 1/8 npt sounds like the way to go so that the port can double as an EGT port...or is that too far away from the exhaust port?

Too far for EGT, but that setup is pretty much what we do when checking BP. We use a 50 0r 100psi gauge depending on the setup though, gas or diesel.

So for the egt, the closer to the exhaust port the better probably? I'm running cast iron manifolds so would it be okay just after the collector flange?

should be ok there... my EGT bung is a couple inches under the turbo flange on my log...
