Default Magnavolt ?

Ok....my fuel pressure is reading 56psi at idle- 50psi at wot. It's been about 25,000 miles since my Radix install , with the Walbro in tank pump. I figured with my other mods I would need to get the Magnavolt to back things up. I made some test runs yesterday, and still at 50psi wot. How do I tell if it's even working? I took my rpm signal directly from the pin#10 on the green pcm plug, yellow from Magnavolt with yellow from intercooler to the fuel pump line coming out of the engine fuse box, grey from Magnavolt to grey fuel pump line leading back to the pump. It's an 04 with the returnless system. Any help would be great.

I think you could monitor voltage to the pump. If I understand it correctly it increases the DC voltage when triggered. I am guessing somthing like 14.1 volts to the pump until its triggered and then up to 16-18V?

But shouldn't I see a fuel pressure increase as well? More voltage to the pump means more pressure, or am I missing something?

Pressure is controlled by the FPR. Pressure=resistance to flow. If there is enough fuel flow/volume the fuel pressure will stay at the FPR setting. If there is not enough fuel flow the pressure will drop.

EDIT: This works for the return system. Dunno about fuel pressure control on the returnless but same principles. Just installing the boost a pump won't increase pressure this is a function of the FPR. It will only keep pressure from dropping off if there is a volume of fuel issue.

To a certain degree yes.....Check to see if you are getting 17.4 volts at the pump under boost/rpm criteria.

I'll try to check in the next week, or so. Right now, I'm busy helping rebuild Holty's truck. Basicilly from the ground up. I'm sure he'll post pics. Thanks B!
