Maggie & Meth Question
#1
Does anyone have any experience with this water meth injection system?

I have never been in a boosted vehicle using meth injection and just wondering if it is worth it. Is tunning with meth difficult and when should it come in? This may be my next mod and I'm just not sure where to start.

I would just call Julio at AlkyControl for the kit. It is a little bit more expensive but you know the old saying, "you get what you pay for".
Running straight meth will allow a little bit more timing, mine comes on at ~3lbs at a variable rate.

The Alky kit uses a tank in place of your washer resevoir with your washers low level sensor, so yes to that.
As far as the pump or controller malfunction...not that I am aware of. One more reason not to cheap out on it.

Its imperative that u not run out as the tune and timing will run way lean and if u go into boost ull run into some real expensive problems! I have mine coming on at 3lbs as well, and u can set them up at variable rates and multiple nozzels as well to match boost. The washer lite will come on as u run low, so u always need to keep some in the truck. Its certainly more hassle, and unless ur jacking up ur boost to >10lbs and really wanna max ur power out its not necessary IMO. U can run 50/50 like washer fluid as well butu my experience is its not worth the effort. I had a Snow kit and the controller failed and ran the pump full out...flooded my TB and stalled the motor...real lucky I had no hydrolock! Spend an extra $200 and save an ultimate $5k! R/

The new style pumps from Alkycontrol have a two stage light. The red light comes on as soon as the pump is commanded to run, and it changes to green once a certain pressure has been built up inside the pump. The point at which the green light comes on is adjustable. Right now, I have my meth start spraying at about 6 psi, and the green light comes on at about 10. I'm going to adjust it so that it comes on lower, probably 6-7 psi. That way I can see immediately if the pump is building pressure or not.
Alkycontrol is the way to go IMO.

I was told by an 11 sec radixed SS owner that it wasn't a mod worth the money. He suggested other mods before going that route. I still may try it one day, but its not first on the next mod list anymore.

And this is an 11 second Z71 owner telling you that it is 100% absolutely necessary once you his a certain boost level. Pump gas is only good for so much compression and boost. For my 9.4:1 SCR engine, that boost level is about 8 psi. After that, it starts knocking pretty bad. Methanol is the only thing that keeps my engine alive over that psi level. Running through a blower you should be ok a little bit over that because of the reduced exhaust backpressure, but not much.

Who could that be?

Anyway, I feel that while the meth does add an octane bump, slightly lower IAT's and some padding for maxed injectors, the cost benefit wasn't what I was expecting for the Radix. This is for the Radix on my set-up as centrifugal and turbo guys deffinately experience more gains.

If you are looking to squeeze all she's got then yes, a worthwhile mod IMO however I sure didn't experience the huge spark advance I was expecting and IAT's did go down a little but not drastically.
Being that I don't go WOT too often, my money would have been better off spent with a nice N2o set-up.

All good advice! Thanks for sharing your experience everyone.
Thats what I like about this sight.
I'm not looking for an all out effort and I'm only going to be running a 3.3" pulley
come this spring.
Guess I will look elsewhere for my next mod....Detroit Tru-trac up next!
