I think it's about perfect. I would liked to have gone with a 3000 for the shift extentions. But, that would have been a big trade off, as mentioned earlier, on low end tq. I didn't want to flash right through half of my power band on takeoff.

I swapped from 3.73 to 4.10 to offset the 24" rims (32" tire) I put on. They weigh in at about 100lbs a peice.

Traction can still be an issue with my setup. If I stab the gas, and have the traction control off, I will light those 24's up all the way through 2nd. A bigger stall would just increase the traction issue.

I have a ton of research into this with my SSS. I have had a stock, 3000 Yank TT, Yank 2600TT, and a Vig 2600 3 disk lock-up behind my radixed 6.0. Here are my observations:

The 3000 is way too high in the Yank. I could flash that puppy to 3500 which made for a fun tire smoking jump but left alot on the table.

The stock was actually pretty good. I threw it in after the 3000 for comparison while FLT built a new tranny for me and I pulled 1.8's for 60 ft times vs 1.7s from the 3000.

I then went to a TT2600 in front of a FLT level V and it felt great at the start. My 60ft times were comparable to the 3000 however I trapped 1.5MPH higher with the same set-up and same tune. This converter lasted about 2000 miles before exploding and taking out the trans.

I had the FLT trans rebuilt and went with the Vig 2600 3 disk lock-up. This was it. I got the torque"y" launch, best short times and the lock-up is amazing.

All of these comparisons were done in my truck with 4.10s and a 29.1" Dunlop all season tire. I HIGHLY SUGGEST the Vig 3 disk in a 26-2800 range. I have no doubt that I can pull a 1.5XX 60ft. time in my truck with a stickier tire. That is at 5420lbs. Keep us posted on your efforts!

i'm running a Yank TT2600 with a stock tranny and am pulling 1.69 60 ft's. I think its perfect for off idle torque.

Hey, I'm a Chevy guy and I'm not even FI yet but I've been doing research on this. I've seen some of the lightning guys going with lower stalls than 2800 to take full advantage of the down low torque of their blowers. Just food for thought.

I scored a vig triple a while back, it was stalled @ 2800rpm based on 550rwhp and the weight of my truck etc etc.

That should be an easy one....if FLT is building your trans, the Vig is the only converter they will warranty.
