Default ls6 cam swap on boosted set ups. anyone got any numbers?

we would like to push the rpm range up on the fairmont a little. right now it is a stock 5.3 with valve springs at 20psi. i have been told by more than one person a ls6 cam is a good mild turbo cam. anyone have any dyno numbers to share that might give us some insight on the effect?

anyone know the stock cam specs? the specs on the ls6 cam?

Same info, just a little easier to read.

I have heard the same thing Jim. It's odd that if you look at the specs for the cam you wouldn't think that it would be a great turbo cam, but many on LS1Tech have used it and came up with some excellent numbers. I know that there is one truck on here for sure using it and put down very good numbers on the dyno. I just don't remember his name off hand.

adding in the LS6 canshaft should gain around 40 hp
and take the powerband up to 6000 or 6100 rpms

I have the 02 zo6 cam with the stock 5.3 and 6.0 heads. Here is the dyno. The dyno says flywheel hp but it is to the wheel. I don't know why it says that. This was at 25psi. Hope that helps Jim!

I don't have any dyno numbers, but have done the 02 Z06 cam, it made a HUGE seat of the pants difference on my 4.8, I'd guess it to be in the 40+ range with same boost. Didn't do much of anything down low, but from 3200 to 6200, was a BIG gain. IIRC went from mid 14's to high 13's with just that cam running 7psi of boost.

i like what i am hearing. might just have to do that swap. probably need some real good springs. right now i am running whatever spring comes standard on afr225 heads witch i dont think is a killer spring. 525 or 550 lift with 20+psi and 6200 or so seems like it would be asking a lot out of the cam.
