Here is an example of the piston out of the hole. It's barely noticeable but you can see it's approximately 0.0045 above the deck.
You can also see the deck of the block was surfaced as well.

If you tune for the methanol and it fails.. you see what can happen.
Tune for your pump gas and let the methanol help cool air and give more octane.

Leaning towards pistons on this too. Thoughts?
.017" with that bore size is too tight for boost.
Just get pistons with the right top to get the compression you want. Id shoot for 9.5CR.

Took a few of the mains apart. Probably nothing you wouldn’t expect, but I thought I’d share since we’re in this deep.

one of the mains is down past the coating and rusting. I’m sure they are beat up because it wasn’t line honed. I’m also 100% certain that the block wasn’t decked, but they tried to make up for it with copious amounts of RTV. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

That just looks like copper to me and not rust.

Where does the copper come from? Yeah, rust isn’t likely in that oily environment, but I’ve never seen this before.

The bearings are made out of copper…

Most bearings are, hence why when you run an oil analysis you get copper showing up.

Edit: you may enjoy this article. I am surprised you did not know this already. I’m guessing you have some brain space yet!

Of course I do! Always willing to learn. The mains I use are black coated and i always figured they were half steel and half wizardry. Just looked them up and they said 2% copper. I've never had mains wear to this point. I also haven't done an oil analysis before and I have 1 car that i don't even want to know. It sees the limiter on every single drive and I fear if i start finding stuff i don't want to it will break haha. Thanks for the knowledge.

That block was not decked. Hard to say on the mains though.
The bearings look like they had a lot of trash go through them...

Block was definitely not decked, cylinders have no cross hatching. I talked to the guy that built it and he said it wasn’t line honed. Almost all of the top rings are worn and pitted. Gaps are way too small and every single ring closed. #3 piston also has a small crack in it. This whole thing is a circus.
