Default Low HP number

WTH?! I finally got to dyno today to get my Speed Density tune finished. After tuning the best run was 380 HP and 440 TQ at 7 psi. I expected more.... I guess my 37's,
4L80, Transfer rob alot of power. I also realized after that we had tuned it in 2wd Lo. hope my tune isn't messed up from that!? My injectors were at 80% duty cycle so I guess I'll need more to go to 10-12 psi.

it takes a load of power to turn those 37's . the 80e doesn't help. if you want to bump to 12# then bigger injectors would be a very good idea.

I'm running LS2 Bosch injectors set at 50 lb/hr, I figured I'd need 60's for
12psi. The motor will handle more boost as it's built, but the trans is what I'm concerned about. There is a lot of stress on my drivetrain as is, more boost may compound this. I thought i'd see in the mid to upper 400's, oh well.

I know...I here it in my sleep! OK - I'm not so concerned about the trans as I am the convertor - it's a HD stock convertor at about 1900-2000 stall - I think it's slipping when the boost hits. oh well - run'er till she blows!

What do you mean it's slipping? Are you locking it up at WOT? The stock converter is a big brick shithouse. I'd love to see what it would take to destroy one of those big bastards. Just lifting that thing off the ground is a chore.

It doesn't feel like it locks up until about 3500rpm, and when it hits I rev to 6000 quickly. I haven't adjusted any of the 80e's perameters yet, what should I adjust, or should I adjust anything?

Ya, in the stock 80e tune it locks up the converter. You're probably in the process of destroying the lockup clutch in that thing locking it up under boost in that heavy bastard if you feel it slipping. Locking up the converter is a good idea, but probably best kept to an aftermarket converter with more clutch surface area.

If you want a converter you can lock up at WOT the two big guns are Precision Industries and Circle D. Both offer multi-disk converters that are built to lock up at WOT. They're pricey tho...the circle D multi Disk is $1000, and PIs 5 disk is somewhere north of $1200
