Default low boost turbo for carbed 383

I am lookin into doing a turbo set up on my 383. Its a 10.0:1 compression motor with this cam set up:
http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...x?csid=88&sb=2
aluminum heads
keith black forged pistons
forged rods
I dont know what all you need to know. But the engine was built by URE engines that i bought as a crate. it makes 462 at thhe crank. i am hoping to possibly put a thicker head gaskets on it to lower the compression a little bit and run a low boost turbo set up. somwhere between 7-10 psi and gain another 100 or more horse.
any suggestions on what size turbo to run?
do i need to do a different cut cam?
what compression would be ideal?
thanks for your help!

IMO Turbo on a stroker...I Dont see this being a good thing. Supercharger maybe. Strokers are not a turbo engine, they are more torque. Turbo motors like higher RPMs. You would have to change more on your motor to accomodate the turbo then it would be to go Supercharger. I think most of the turbo guys are running anywhere from 8:1 to 9:1.

I just sold my 383 chevy stroker that had 10:1 compression just because i wanted to build a turbo motor..... It wasent cost effective for me to spend 4,000$ on a turbo kit for a additional 100 h/p, just something to think about

What does it matter if its a stroker? Theres a ton of people with turbo strokers on here. And your not going to find many 8:1 street engines. If you look around on here your going to find most are between 9:1 and 10:1, and people put turbos on 10.9:1 LS1s and LS2s all the time.

I stand corrected on the CR. Sorry, it is most factory turbo motors run 8:1 to 9.1 compression. Thanks for the lesson. LOL

a blower set up would be nasty, but i just found out over the weekend theres another guy in my area with an almost identical truck with a blower. so i cant be the same and i would much rather run a turbo. But would 10.0:1 compression be okay? or does it need to be lower and still what kind of turbo and turbo size would reach or exceed my goal on low boost. i dont want to blow anything up i just would a little horse gain and not pay out the *** for it.

I daily drive a 408 stroker with 11:1 CR with 7lbs of boost, you'll be fine as long as you have 93 gas around and a good tune.

I 383 at 7-10 PSI of boost would run well with about a 76mm turbo.

lol, strokers make just as good of a candidate for a turbo as anything else. Absolutely not relevant. IMO it would be great, the longer stroke helps offset any little bit of lag you may have, and the turbo would rock the rest of the way through the rpm range if properly sized. I would also choose aound a 74-78mm turbo. KBracing has a wealth of knowledge in this dept, listen to him
