You are correct that purchasing an 8-rib conversion retail would be expensive. I was able to buy a new ASP setup from a forum member for less than the cost of Fluidamper or ATI damper alone...so about 50% of retail. I feel good about the price, and am less concerned with possible belt slip. I had significant belt slip with the MP112 and 6-rib 2.85 pulley.
Well, it does seem that many make setup changes, make the dyno runs and then not follow it up with track runs. I have not run the truck as it sits now...and I am curious as to what it will do "as a baseline". with the 346 & MP112, I made changes and made videos of my track runs...
I had planned on installing the pulley setup (raising the boost) before doing any track time...but agree that it would be more "informative" to have before/after logs and run times. There is a track event on Aug 10 so I'll hold off on any changes until after that event so that there is some "empirical" comparison data.
I agree with you Rick, even if it dyno's better I'm not sure how much faster it'll actually be. The IAT's will just climb faster. A more agressive cam will only compound that. I've seen some good numbers out of the highly spun up MP122's on the dyno, but I'm waiting for the same out of the track numbers. Make sure to log the truck on a run to check for high IAT's past the 1/8 mile. Losing up top isnt a good trade off for more in the beginning.

I work swingshifts (2pm-10pm) Tue-Sat so my next Sunday opportunity is Sept 10 at Infineon.

Just for comparison on that 122.
Mikes awd TBSS with his system in it and him is over 5400 pounds race weight.
newtech did the 112hh on his truck (awd) with 9 psi pump gas and meth injection ran a 11.7@114. Nick set him up with a custom grind cam that really did the trick. Hes going to be doing a race gas tune now since his street 91 tune on his 11.7 run is really really safe. Hes going to go for pinks all out in like 3 weeks so with the new tune im sure will run low 11s especailly with some weight savings
