Default Livernois Motorsports turbo kit

i have few questions about this kit.

1. how does the kit hook up to the cats??? i see there`s a cross over pipe going from the driver`s side to the passenger side but what do u do with the drive`s side cat.

2. Is the kit emmision compliant???

3. Ths base kit comeswithgt-37 turbo .Is this the garret turbo thats good for 700hp???I read in another thread that the gt-37 is good till 8 psi on that escalade , but thats nowhere near 700hp.

4. So in order to run more boost u have to go to t-67,t-76 hybrid.???

I'm leaning towards the Detroit Speedworks / Livernois kit as well. I'm getting ready to pick up an 06 RCSB 5.3 A4 so I'll need to wait on tuning. My expectations are daily driver on everything else stock except maybe an upgraded diff... pushing 5-7 psi...

I would assume...

One big downpipe equals one big aftermarket hi-flow cat after the turbo and none prior... or no cat at all depending on how liberal your local emissions requirements are. My "requirements" don't start until 5 years after purchase date

From what I have read the GT37 is a good turbo for instantaneous boost that is streetable on a factory motor. The 67 is for "more" boost with an acceptable lag. Swap in a torque convertor and I'm sure the lag is diminished or nonexistant. As for the 76 I would assume a bit more lag and ALOT more power... and more than likely everything the turbo is bolted to beefed up.

What are you looking for? 700 flywheel or rearwheel? Are you building a forged bottom end, tranny, and rear diff to take the boost you want? What size motor? What heads / cam? What are your other expectations? Daily Driver? Weekend Warrior? Full Race?

topend,

You will have to have a piece of pipe fabricated to go between the downpipe and the catback. Depending on what catback you use and whether you use a cat or not there could be several variations so there isn't anything included with the kit. Any exhaust shop can do this for you at very little cost.

As far as I know, there has been no emissions testing.

The GT-37 is good up to about 10 lbs. but will not make 700hp, however the GT-67 should do it and have acceptable "lag". As billreid1@***.net said, a converter would fix that issue.

You can run more than 10 lbs. with the GT-37, but it won't be efficient.

im just looking for alittle more power boost.Something that would surprise a stock mustang gt at the light i wasnt looking for 700hp i just read on the precision turbo website that the gt-37 could support 700 hp.My truck is stock 02 ecsb 5.3L. I seen that escalade on another thread beating a nova and mustang and thought that was hilarious.

now when u say lag do u mean that the gt-67 turbo will begin to make boost at higher rpm verses a smaller turbo gt-37.Or will the gt-67 build boost slower saying longer time to go 0-10 psi vs the gt-37

thanks

this kit is amazing, you for sure will not be dissappointed if this is the direction you decide to go. I am a very picky person and i love this kit. I am actually going to order another kit for my escalade

I love my Livernois kit but, I run a Full T-4 Turbo (Rated for 780hp) from Precision in place of the little gt-37 and I have barley any lag... I am only running 7.5lbs of boost and I have some tuning issues right now but, I am making 402ftlbs at the ground and It's goes WWWEEEEEE!!!!! We did get the truck up to 17lbs of boost by accident one day, it was scary fast for that few seconds but, I let off the gas in fear of blowing my stock motor up... LoL

For my exhaust I just had a bolt in Mid-Pipe with a Wide band O-2-Bung made to go between my Down pipe and my cat back system... Screw Cats, they just make your exhaust smell good.

P.S. My motor is all stock except for what come with the Livernois kit, I can't wait to get a cam in and some valve work. 8-)
