Default Kinda curious Supercharger setups.

Who is making good power with a supercharger. Im talking purpose built motors shooting for high HP. I know procharger and Turbo setups push past 1000 all day but its rare to see anything on classic mounted superchargers. I have seen a few Maggie's, Whipple making 800-900 but that's about it. Any info Thanks

Not gonna find too many guys pushing big power with superchargers. I think mine makes over a grand.

The key to making power is moving the maximum amount of air possible. Typically a manifold style supercharger(whipple, magnuson, etc) will be severally limited in possible airflow. TVS1900/2300 is generally going to struggle to make 1000+hp. The new 4.0L models could change that, but I doubt many trucks will have one in the near future. Procharger's on the other hand aren't so far off as demonstrated by blown06.

Kind of, you want to move the most MASS of air, which doesnt necessarily mean the most VOLUME.

There arent a lot that push 1,000, mostly because of belt issues.

I can see the belt causing issues slip/stretch. I would just think more people would still try. Especially since Lightning's can do really good with a whipple. What about the new 8.3 whipple ??Whipple Industries Why not switch heads to Rectangular wont that open doors to LSA/LS9 superchargers. Kenny bell / 4.0-4.3 whipples ? I don't know Im just kinda curious why we don't see many builds like that anywhere on tech or anything. That style blower has been around for ever and still is.

How hard would it be to hit 800rwhp on a whipple/Kenny bell ?

I think traction is another big thing...easier to ramp it in with a centrifugal blower or turbo than it is with a roots, unless you go real fancy like they do in pro stock with super clutches.

I havent seen many roots/twin screws make that much power, but I'd love to. I can't imagine a much more fun ride on the street than AWD and 700 to the wheels with as much torque coming on really early.
