Kenne Bell 2.8L latest update.

Well as I started to tune the new blower a couple of minor limitations will need to be fixed soon.
1)Need to upgrade to 90mm throttle body and larger filter. Current 75mm is choking the blower.
2)Belt slip at 12-13 lbs - need to upgrade to 8 rib setup. Can anyone recommend an upgrade kit. (not too expensive?)
3)Loosing boost through bypass valve - need to re plumb to activate on inlet vacuum as opposed to manifold vacuum.
4)I think I can get even lower IATS by venting the bypass valve to atmosphere. That should prevent circulation of hot air. Good for XX degrees? Any suggestions for a check or blowoff valve.
So far the blower has been awesome, the tuning has taken a while, but lots of fun. Thre is no doubt that the blower is capable of 20lbs once I get things dialed in. Currently, the boost comes on at 25% throttle - pretty sick!
I need to fix the above items before going to dyno.
Someone needs to try the 3.3. Whitt1 any news?

Thanks for the update... good luck with the final adjustments to the system.
I'm starting to think about a big blower again myself. Easier to do on my own in the garage. A turbo would be awesome... but scheduling is too hard for me. I need something I can work on in my own time.

you get any dyno numbers or track times with that thing yet?

Suggestions on kits?
Planning to dyno after I fix
the 90mm TB and
bypass valve issue and
get stock tires.

Being that the twin screws are always making boost I would wonder what happens if you vent the bypass to the atmosphere. I bet it will be noisy all the time. It might sound like a air leak under the hood all the time.

Also if I am not mistaken V if you set the bypass to run off of inlet vacuum it will never close. It will always see vacuum. Or would it, hmm. Now I have to think, damnit its too late to be thinking.

ATI makes a really nice kit,Moregrip put me on to them,I have the complete ATI setup with Super Damper and 100mm Metco idler pulleys. All I need now is to find a 4.25"8rib Whipple pulley to get started with my 3.3 install.Whipple claims a 3.50" is as large as they make in an 8rib,but it would give me about 19 to 20 lbs of boost.
