Have you done the alternator bracket mod I've talked about on here? If not...

Can you grab the alternator and wiggle it back and forth without the belt on it?

I think this is the post he is referring to regarding the stock squeeze spacers on the alternator...

You'll notice that there are two bushings (one for each bolt) in the alt. bracket, that when tightened (without the procharger bracket) push on the alternator to squeeze it tight inside the bracket. The standoffs (bolt spacers) that come with the kit that are used on the alt bolts have a counter bore in them that are meant to clear the shoulder on the bushing in the alt bracket. The problem with this is that now the alternator really has nothing to squeeze it tight in the bracket and with the procharger kit installed is now "floating" the alternator. Much like how a brake caliper floats in the bracket.

This can and does create all types of problems including but not limited to belt slip, improper belt alignment, broken alt brackets, worn out alt bearings, broken alt bodies......

The fix is to measure the correct standoff between the bracket and the bushing to get the alternator to tighten back up in the bracket. Then machine the standoff or bolt spacer to that length and don't counter bore it. Let it push against the bushing.

Not sure if your problem is related to this, but every procharger truck I've seen with stock style brackets on it, you can reach over grab the alternator and it rocks back and forth.

Subscribed for this... I'm also shredding the front couple ribs horizontally and then one hard pull and snap goes the belt... Also on a 8rib setup with a 3.55 pulley and gates HD green belt.
