With you running low boost I'd think that their kit and the 10:1 compression should be a good combo together. My opinion though would be to just go to a turbo kit and up the airflow that way. An 88mm turbo at 8psi would be all the power you'd need and should still spool quickly. 6k+ is too much to me for a head and cam package especially when it's not going to get you any more than you have right now.

If I were to go about re-doing your 8.1L, here's how I would do it.
Raylar cylinder heads and whatever other supporting gear is needed to run them. Then a turbo kit. That's it. Simple and effective. The cylinder heads are going to be key to making big reliable power. Look at the difference in flow that Raylar offers.
If you are concerned about the stock pistons, Ross offers a very good custom piston operation that would take care of those concerns.

A 5.3 with a cam should gain 15-20 rwhp, with good full exhaust that is.
How much difference does Raylar see in their dyno tests? I'd say one of their set ups would be about the same difference as yours blown with LT's.

After all tuning is done I'd guess 20 and no more than 30. You'd lose some boost, but be able to run more timing. Over all it would be a nice gain. I'm guessing still short of what you want though.

Okay, here is my plan. I can get Just the heads and CAM for a little less. I am thinking of going heads, cam, and LT's....and keeping the blower on. I should be at an rediculously safe 4 or 5lbs of boost after the goodies are on...but I should pick up a few ponies in the long run. 42xRWHP 51x RWTQ now...with heads, cam, LTs, and the whipple.....i should be flirting with 500RWHP and 600rwtq i would think. I think thats what I am gonna do......I think. I plan on starting with the LTs first though.
