Default Intercooler tank water level?

I installed a larger water tank for the supercharger and Im not sure how much to fill it.
Option 1: Can i completely fill it even tho that will submerge the water return inlet?
Option 2: Or do I need an air gap between where the water comes back in and the water in the tank?
Thanks.

You can submerge the return. Just make sure the feed has enough coolant that under accel it doesn’t suck air.

Got a quick question on this subject because I am in the middle of my FI engine install. Is installing a bigger cooling system (tank) for the supercharger make a big difference?

i have a 10 gallon reserve. it just seems to postpone the inevitable heat soak...someone with more experience may confirm/deny my observation.

I agree with this reasoning. I added a trick tank in my battery location for that reason
