Default FLT Level 5 65e or FLT Level 5 80e

I cant decide I originally was going to go with a built 80e from JAG performance but after hearing something bad about them decided to look into the FLT transmissions. I cant decided which one to go with. I have already blown(slips bad at WOT) a built 65e with all the goodies in it and am wondering what is done so much better in the FLT trans to make it last. I really think Im going to go ahead and drop the level 5 80e in there and be done with it but Im not totally sure cause it will cost me another 1200 to get the 80e with the conversion parts and all. How far has the FLT level 5 65e been pushed? Im going to be sitting at 600+chp with my new h/c/i setup this summer and up to a 300 shot of nitrous on top of that and eventually a turbo so Im lookin at close to 1000hp pushing through the trans. I have my doubts that a 65e can hold that much.

An 80e with a shift kit and a few upgrades is good for 900 hp.

Yeah but I run my truck HARD all the time and dont think just a mild 80e will last me especially with the inevitable 350 shot that I will spray on it just cause my kit supports it.

Im going to call JAG performance again on Monday and talk to them about the incident with VicReds trans. He is cheaper than FLT and is only an hour away and I wont have to install it Im tired of working on my ****. Got put new header gaskets on take my y-pipe off and get some header buddies welded on, take the water pump off fix the gaskets, wire up the gauges, new O2 sensors, Im just tired of working this damn thing so if I can work out a deal with JAG on the install then Ill probably get them to do it if not then Ill look into FLT some more. Anyone know what their warranty is on their trans(FLT) since they are closed till monday.

Chuck @ FTL built a 65 to handle my power, which is saying a lot. He was one of the few people who were even interested in talking about my project once I mentioned keeping the awd and has been there from get to go.

If you have the option to go 80, go to an 80. I would have if I could have kept the awd and done it.

IMO Chuck is the man. If a tranny can be set up for your truck, Chuck knows how it should be done, and will do it. Plus he flat out stands behind his product. On top of all that tech stuff, Chuck's an all around, stand up, good guy.

FLT gives you a 6 month warranty, with the finest quality out there. Everything said about Chuck is true and IMO the only way to go!!! If you still wondering about whats in his units, go to www.finishlinetrans.com and see it for yourself. No BS Parish 8 is my hero!!!

Who built the "built" 60E you blew? What were your previous power levels and did you blow it up before you built your current motor? Doesn't sound like they did a very good job if you have already blown it out with the previous power levels, before the new setup?

Sounds like the tranny may not be the only thing to go boom with a 300 shot, lol. Better get your own tuning software first.
