intercooler situation-
#1
okay so im doing the sts install in about a month and im wondering where to put the intercooler. im running the piping back up into the fenders but. if i run it on the passenger side the down to the bottom of the truck with intercooler mounted horizontal then back up in2 the throttle body. do you think i will lose some throttle response and have more lag rather than if i just mounted in the intercooler inline under the truck between the frame rails....

I have done intercoolers that have made 180's out of the exit side and had little if any effect on it. Keeping in mind this is a built 408. I think the cooling benefits of having it in the front will far outweigh putting it inline under the truck, even if some of the bends are tight.

It wont make that much difference. We do these all the time. Hell, think about how much an F-body has going over the axle, to the front, and then through the intercooler. They do just fine.
You sould use 2" pipe for your charge pipe until you exit the intercooler, then go up. The smaller pipe keeps velocity up. That is the size we used on the Blazer we did.

yeah thats what i planned on using. hey man where is the oilpressure sending unit i still cant find the bitch i looked all over the oil pan. i will be running a Cartech adjustable FMU, walbro intank, and a dyno tune should run 8 to 9psi fine then with the meth 10 or 11psi. machperformance made 360whp @ 11psi on there conventional front mount kit.

There is 2 places on 4.3 you can get oil from. 1 is a plug right above the oil filter and the sending unit is probable on the top of the motor at the very back of the intake on the block.

Once it's all pressurized, you're good to go.
