Is there anything I would be giving up (other than a little extra $$) by going with the 408? Like I said, if there's a reasonably small difference between the prices (keep in mind the resale value of the LQ9 as well if I go with the 408), I'll just go all out and get it over with now.

Why is everyone so hung up on the Vic JR?
Especially for a motor that isnt going to be shifted at 7000+rpms.

Id go with an ls6 or a fast 90/90, the vic jr makes no sense to me other than it looks nice.

A lean #7 cylinder is reason enough for me. Plus he's going to be NA for awhile and an LS6 intake isn't designed for 408 cubes. A FAST 90/90 setup requires financing or 2nd mortgage, they priced themselves out of the market IMO.

Like others have said lean 7 and 8. You can also throw out shifting at 7k. It will work fine as a daily driver with F.I.

Jim,
Maybe you could build a turbo kit for Chris? I remember reading you might try building/selling your own kit if you sell your truck(?). That would be

Chris,
To my surprise APS publicly admitted, on another forum, yesterday they are working on a Truck / SUV twin turbo system in 2007. IMO, APS makes one of the highest quality twin turbo systems for the GTO, C6, and soon to be released C5... amongst other vehicles they support. Maybe check into them as well. Their C5 kit is finishing shake down right now and last I checked that kit was putting out 640rwhp on 93 Octane... on an LS6 (C5/Z06). Thats very impressive considering the already high compression ratio. Dyno graphs looked real good... including no boost fall off (or creep)... indicating a well designed setup.

KB has their truck kit out now...

... and you know the MP122HH will be no slouch... with TVS hopefully around the corner.

Foor for thought... Good luck with whatever you decide

Bill Reid

You guys kill me do I need to go get parishs dyno sheet with the truck intake and the vic JR? Do I need to reiterate how he ran better ET's and shifted lower and had more area under the curve. And as far as price goes the vic jr with an elbow and adapter and TB will cost just as much as the 90/90 setup
Come on guys. Where have yall been under a rock? LS6 not supporting a 408 OMG https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ls6+intake+408 hows a 1000rwhp through an ls6 intake sound?

Nope. I paid 550 for my vic jr with intake elbow. that is a hell of a lot less than a fast setup.....plus look at the w2w cars....they are some of the and the fastest ls1 anywhere and they are running the vic set .
