Installed wideband today
#1
Well finally got exhaust ran yesterday and put in wideband today.... IM pretty sure somethings wrong.. its bouncing all over from 11 to 18...... I have P0171 and p0174 codes im pretty sure i just need to clean off some of the remaining oil residue from the MAF that got on there from my oil problems before. Any suggestions on why why wideband would bounce so much? My wideband is plx SM-AFR with DM-5 gauge

Vacuum leaks could cause that issue as well. Where did you install the sensor, not real familar with the plx stuff. Some bouncing around is normal at idle or cruising depending on the tune. Or if you lift the truck will show dead lean again depending on the tuning. On the 02 2500HD , it bouced all over the place just depending on what I was doing, etc at WOT then it should have very little movment.

If the maf is dirty from oil, that could definitely cause the lean and rich condition.
Give us a call and set something up, we'll see if we can get rid of the maf all together that way you don't have to worry about it!
