Do you have the boost reference to your wastegate run from the compressor housing or the intake manifold. Since you have the IC in line you should run the boost ref to your wastegate from the intake manifold and that should cure your drop in boost pressure.

It is possible that the elephant noise you hear when you lift after a WOT run is compressor surge. But keep an eye out behind you just in case....

 

Well if it was just an elephant I might have a solution, but since it's an elephant in Africa, I have no clue.

I'm going to go with compressor surge like the others, but can elaborate more on this noise. Where is it coming from. Behind you? From the IC? The engine?
