installed i/c truck makes weird noise

Default installed i/c truck makes weird noise

i installed the side mount i/c underneath the pass. door and when i get into boost its starts making a weird noise and when i let off ( i have no blowoff valve) the throttle right after i let off its sounds like a dam elephant in africa what can it be?

Air leak? Make sure you did not blow a coupler off and that your hose clamps are tight. Did you pressure test the cooler before you installed it? No packing materials left inside the cooler?

Cooler installed upside down.......J/K

Good luck finding the problem.

Maybe its just amplifiying your compressor surge some??

no i didnt do the pressure test to the i/c how can i do that? im just scared that at night im going to have an elephant on top of my truck trying to penitrate into my exhaust pipe

I have not put my IC on yet, but yes boost dropping is normal when adding an IC. How much depends on its flow characteristics and length but it will drop. Just get a higher bar spring or a two stage controller and run a low/high boost set up.
You should record your weird sounds for the group here and post them up.

I know this is not related to your question, but I was wondering how you have room between the rocker panel and frame for an intercooler. Or are the truck frames not as wide as the ones on a suv since there is only about 4" of space om mine.

k ill try to get a recording and ill check 4 the air leak also!!! and yukon400 i think trucks do have a lil bit more room than the suv ill post some pics up here so u can see it also !!!
