Default I'll try one more time

getting ready to do the gt2-3 cam and a texas speed 2.5 (5.3) head swap on the radix as well as the 90mm throttle body. Anyone running 1.8 rockers with this cam?? Should I just get some good 1.7's or would there be some benefits to the 1.8's on the little 5.3? Please respond i am buying soon. Thanks.

I have the Crane Gold 1.7 roller rockers with my GT2-3 cam but they came with the heads I've got... If I were building one, I'd just run stockers with good springs/retainers...

So the stockers are just fine? no real gains to be had?

None to speak of unless you're just looking for every single tiny drop of power... They require guide plates and have to be set up correctly as well where the stockers are torque and go... I'd also drop some good pushrods in there while you've got it apart.

You will be fine with stock. If the valve guides had been replaced with bronze then I would go with rollers.
