i get the reading from a little tube coming of the back going to my boost gauge. if i blow up the motor i am gonna go with a forged 408 and up the boost to like 15 psi.

Which compressor are you using? My 2.8L top mount made 5-6.5# (dependent on weather) with a 4" pulley on my 370. I recently swapped to a 3.5" pulley and picked up ~4.5# for 9.5# in 90* air.
