So this story has a happy ending. My new neighbor is journeyman mechanic and hot rod builder who likes to work on making things go fast as a hobby.

So we (he! I am useless!) are cleaning up the piping on the Escalade for better flow, putting in flexalite e-fans (will the 15 inch diameter duals fit? That is what is recommended on the flexalite site), and cleaning up some other items that it turns out had gotten caked with oil.

The end result - I have decided to hang on to the old girl. My family has gotten used to the big suvs, don't feel safe in the little mercedes so it may have to go buh bye, especially if can get the sclade running nearly as quick if not quicker.

What kind of fans are on it now clutch fans? If so just buy some oem e-fans from a 2005 and up silverado tahoe suburban etc and put those in. I put some oem e fans in my 2004 silverado that had clutch fansfit perfect and mouted right up and bolted right in. I wouldnt do any other aftermarket efan imo.

Yes, it has a clutch fan. Was not aware could do that - thanks. Not sure where would find one here other than the local wrecker, or maybe parts source.

I thought the larger electric fans required the 34" radiator?

They pop up randomly in the classifieds but you should be able to get a set from a local junkyard. Then you can just hit up Blackbear for the wiring harness.
