How long do P1C units last before servicing?
#1
I had the escalade sold until the independent inspection mechanic informed the buyer that the procharger would eventually need servicing to the tune of 1000 to 1500 dollars. The vehicle has a little over 60,000 miles on it, and I have changed the procharger oil on a regular basis.
Is this true? Do the P1C units need to be serviced by procharger near 60,000 miles? And is this cost correct?
Thanks

As I understand the conversation, the buyer was told that all superchargers eventually need servicing. It was a quick inspection, and one mechanic's opinion about superchargers in general.

Ahh, gotchya. Well I wouldn't say that's entirely false.. but that doesn't mean your particular unit does. Imo this could be the buyers way of just trying to beat you down another $1,000-$1,500.

The mechanic probably just through that out there as a "oh btw" and he looked at it as a way to try to get more money off imo
I don't think it was Roger, iirc he was only ever on a Radix. Maybe Superado... he had some ridiculous miles on his?

I think so as well. Oh well, buyer just called and gave a lame excuse for backing out of deal.
I must say that the only downside of forced induction is trying to sell vehicle down the road. Most people are ignorant of the power upside and usually scared of the unknown.
Oh well thanks for the replies everyone - as always they are greatly appreciated.
