Default High iat?

80* ambient temp humid has hell it actually rained later that night........120* idling temps and 160* max iat temp in the 1/4 mile.... 11psi and 55hp wet shot of nitrous. I thought the nitrous would keep it low. Is the air really colder but the sensor just not able to pick up the change due to the nitrous. Stock Magnacharger cooling system. IIRC the tuner said it was 14* down low and 12* up top of timming. What would be your first choice?

Larger Fluid Reservoir (Canton)
Second Heat Exchanger
Larger Nitrous shot (possibly dry)
100% Meth
50/50 Meth

Larger or second heat exchangerwill help cool it down when off boost. Meth will help to a point, water/meth maybe but most of us wll tell you to run straight meth.

I would just assume nitrous being so cold wouldn't allow the temp to climb but actually drop them from idle since it is below freezing? Or is the shot not big enough to keep up with the amount of incoming air? How does meth cool better than nitrous?

that things moving a **** ton of air, with just a little nitrous thru it. at least thats my thought, pretty much what you stated.

Magnacharger CTS-V heat exchanger is a nice piece. Will keep you IAT starting point lower. Are your fans running on low at 160?

The bigger heat exchanger, and larger fluid res should make a difference. Don't bother with the 50/50 meth, go with 100%.

I had trouble enough trying to fit the stock heat exchanger in the truck I had to clearance the stock grill shell and grill. How and where do you guys mount the cts-v heat exchanger? 170* motor temp the fans are on.....

I was thinking of getting another stock heat exchanger and the 00-02 hd lower valance and mounting it behind the center opening, would this be as good as the cts-v or does one big do better than two small?

I have the CTS-V exchanger but it was a squeeze, 2 normal XR's will have the same cooling surface, I've seen them mounted lower with fans...(thinking Grippy and 04Denali?)
I dont notice a big drop or any drop for that matter with the 75 shot...

What size pulley are you running? I would run straight meth and slow the blower down. Maybe 10 psi max and run more timing. I think you will make more power that way. For reference, last time I ran at the track, my IAT's started at 124 and ended at 145. That is on a LQ4, 2.9 pulley, straight meth, stock heat exchanger.

The larger CTS-V will not fit in the 99-02 trucks because there is not enough room unless you start relocating stuff.
