Head work and F/I?
#1
I was looking to do some head mods on the Dodge and got the turbo bug again. Hemifever and SRT10KLLR have the STS kit working great and also removing the "extra" 9th injector. No more limp modes thanks to the SMT6.
Anyway, there is a shop performing Extrude honing on the DC heads that is getting some serious NA power increases. The process is expensive ( over $1000 for everything ) or near the same cost of StageI heads or a good PP. If I do go back to FI would the head work really be a good mod or is it like headers, not a worth the time/money?
Thanks for any opinions and/or insight!

Yes,head mods do help with FI applications, but the results are not the same as a NA application.A FI head will benefit more from attention to porting the exhaust and polishing the combustion chambers to remove potential hotspots that might cause detonation.Other head mods you might consider for high boost applications are enlarging the chamber to reduce compression and installing steel o-rings for a better head gasket seal.
