I read here that the 97 ford F150 w/ 5.4 tensioner is the same as the magnuson one ??

I'd like to verify due to ease of getting it at the parts store for 41$

You might give Joe at leftcoast32 a call. He can set you up with a tensioner that is bad to the bone.

-or if you'd like to upgrade I have an 8-rib conversion for sale with his tensioner and tensioner brace. It's set up for a procharger but I could get you everything you need minus the vortech pulley and idler and belt.

Hmmmm.... wonder if this is true. That would be a super cheap upgrade. Hopefully someone will verify.

It's the same as their regular tensioner, not the heavy duty model unfortunately. It's still good info to keep in the back of your mind in case you ever get stranded somewhere with a broken tensioner. I used to worry about it all the time and carry a spare with me and while I still do carry a spare belt, I don't bother with the tensioner any more. Hell it's been 4 years since I've had a problem with one, so I guess it's luck of the draw and/or driving style (not jumping out of the throttle too quick).

So where can I buy a HD tensioner. I payed joeyc125 fr his TVS1900 yesterday and would like to install the HD tensioner when I do the kit.

I'd also say just pick one up from Magnacharger. I like the 22" Motoforge wheels, they are lighter than the cast Gibb's 20's I had on it before and they clear my brakes, which was the sole reason I went with them to begin with. I actually liked the looks of the Gibb's wheels better on my truck, as the centers pretty well matched the body color, but unfortunately they are heavy and didn't clear my front calipers.
