Got the whipple, now some questions
#1
Well I got that kit. Its for my 1997 gmc 5.7L vortec. Its missing some hardware and such but nothing hard to find. Its the older style kit that had the fuel pump set up, the more current design has the aux fuel injectors. If anyone knows where I could find the piece that bolts to the intake manifold that has the ports for the injectors along with the complete wiring kit for this fuel set-up that would be great. I seen it on ebay last week but its now gone.
First question is can I bolt this all on and start the truck and just listen to it idle to see if I hear any noises from the charger that may indicate issues, without having all the additional fuel stuff hooked up?
Second question is if I upgrade to the marine intake with the bigger injectors can I get rid of the whipple fuel stuff? From my understanding this was all there because the poppet style injectors couldn't get enough fuel for the system.
Third question is I have a westers higher octane tune on my truck, he's an hour away. Should I get the computer put back to stock settings until I have it all on and running then take it back and have him tune it to the supercharger?
Fourth question is what is this fitting ontop of the charger where I believe the oil would be put in when changing the oil. It appears to have a pipe thread female end and it will leak oil if you turn it around. I have tape over the hole while I have it sitting, awaiting installation.

Other than that any advice or comments would be appreciated. I've started the install somewhat. Won't get to test drive this truck till next spring since winter is around the corner and the truck is parked. May take it around the block, but I have lots of time to make sure this goes on without any issues.

Well congrats and good luck. I really don't have much advise for you but I would suggest you take it to Lyndon once you have it all ready. Whippled2dr has a similar unit/engine and has got his modded quite a bit, send him a pm?
