Default Got the STS installed

Base kit and 44 injector installed. Every thing went good. I already had my fuel pressure, boost, and xd-1 wide band installed. The only dumb thing I did was. Before I started it for the first time I put the oil line that hooks to the oil cap in a milk jug to flush the line out. I forgot to put other end of the quick dis-connect in so it would open the line.I only had it started for around 20 seconds. When I killed it I heard the oil pressure going through the seals in the turbo. A little oil dripped out of the end of the tail pipe. I only have a turn down on the end of the turbo for an exhaust pipe. I took it for a cruise around the block. Today I took off the intake pipe from the turbo. I only found oil up to the pipe that hooks to the center cab mounting bolt. Got it all cleaned out. I have a little miss idle when I come to a stop. It last for about 3 seconds then corrects it self. I think it will fix it self after I get some time on the tune. I have the new E1 pipe. That the wast gate exit out its own pipe rather than hooks in to the main exhaust. I only have a small turn down on it also. The whistle from the wast gate is loud. I have some more pipe to extend it to about 4 feet to see if it makes it any quieter. The exhaust sound all most the same as my flowmaster 30 series dumped. maybe a little louder. Going to get the tranny rebuilt next week, and a 2800 stall. I still have to put on the electric boost controller and meth kit. I only put about 10 miles on it. Only done a couple short 3/4 to full throttle pulls. Man it really puts you back in your seat. I love this thing.

how long did it take? My install will be a little more involved since I have to put the manifolds back on and then new Y etc. Im not sure I understand what you did? Do you have to have the quick connect on to open the return line to the valve cover?? So it backed up?? Im not sure I have the quick connect on my kit, do you have a pic?? I was planning on hooking the return line to the tap that is already in my oil pan for the vortech.

Cool

Congrats on the STS turbo install. Now go out and drive that thing.

Let us know how you make out on the waste gate. I just ordered some new hot pipes and I will be venting to the atmosphere as well and hope it is not too loud. Don't want to be too obvious that I am a crazy old fu^^er. LOL

You will want that boost controller and meth on there PDQ.

It took around 18 hour doing it by my self in a one car garage with only a jack and jack stands. I did allot of getting under the truck not having the right tool, getting out from under the truck ,get the tool. then get back under. And hit my dam head every time. Over and over .It takes me a little longer than most because I am so **** about how the wiring and oil lines are ran. I re did them about 5 times till I found a rout that I though was the best.
Here a pic.The large piece goes on the return oil line. The small one goes in to the oil cap on the valve cover. it is there so you can disconnect the oil line so you can unscrew the oil cap. You don't need one because you are going to hook it up to the oil pan. You will want to pump oil through the oil line to clean it out before you connect it to your motor. I put a 120 psi on air through mine first then I pumped oil through it just to make sure it was clean.

Is anyone else intake pipe this close to the headers? I have gibbson shorty. How much heat can this silicone take? It was 98 degs yesterday. I went out for to long drives. It seem not to be affecting it yet. I think I will get some heat tape to put on it for added protection.

Cool

I think I would try to fab up some kind of heat shield rather than use heat tape. It seems everyone says the heat tape will cause your pipes to rust.
