Mines also in the pan about as high as i could get it on the passenger side above the oil level sensor. I almost wish that i would have put it right into the front of the pan though.

So, just mount the drain as high on the oil pan as possible? Would that be high enough?

Where I put mine is right above the oil level, and far enough below the starter to run the hose...I got lucky on that one since I didnt plan for either

Always here to help a fellow turbo guy out! Mines mounted under crank pulley, as high I could get it. Also worth noting I did mine with oil pan installed, just used the grease and bit drilling style. Took my time and kept 8lb 6 ounce baby jesus in mind as I slowly drilled.

that is exactly what i had said in my post where above the sensor is a good place to put it
