I havent had the opportunity to really play with mine yet... but from a daily driving prospective I can say I think the gear ratio's are pretty good.
Fingers crossed I'll be able to report back a few WOT pulls with my FLT after this weekend...

the reason i asked is because there is great tuner of fords.you know lot ford run chevy trans .he says there ford turbo cars and lighting truck slow down when swapping to 80e vs there (ford) 6 speed tranny with the lower 1st ans 2nd gear.so they do gear swap.says he like low gear in tranny and tall gears in the rear like 3.23 /3.15 /3.08

I can see that with a roots or centrifugal blower assuming you could get it to the ground with such short gears... but a turbo kinda likes the longer gear to really help it load up and hit boost quicker.
As some one else said... if the gear is too long you aren't making enough power

I really like the gear ratio. My truck will pretty much spin the tires at any speed in 2nd so power isnt an issue with my setup. I say leave it, and turn up the boost if it feels doggy.

Lower gears allow the engine engine to rev cleaner and lug it down.
Time slip shows your on the right track.
Did not know you could swap gears out in the 80e. ???
