FMIC fans?
has anyone ever used or seen someone use a electric fan mounted on the intercooler to aid in cooling at low speeds or at idle? i know at idle or low speeds youre not really spooling but was just curious to see if this has been done and if so if its worth the trouble or not...

well i know this is not goin to answer your question, but on my WA Intercooler at idle my IATs usually get up to 123-130 and thats idling for about 30 minutes on a 100* day.
But when i used my cheater system which was a cooler behind my passenger seat filled with ice and a decent sized Tranny cooler in it. my IATs were about 20-30* below ambient. but stupid me left the other tranny cooler up front so that just heated the water up on the second go around.
If i get a weekend with nothing to do im goin to put a cooler in the bed of my truck and run 2 or 3 tranny coolers in it submerged in ice and just see what it does..
I know i can chill the intercooler really good and it starts condensating.. haha..
But i have wanted to put a small fan on my Heat Exchanger (large Tranny Cooler) but i doubt thats goin to help...

well i couldnt tell you about temps , i installed these fans when i installed the fmic right off the bat. i have the fans come on with my engine e fans. temps are 10 degrees above ambient in hot weather and only a couple in the winter. i have a manual switch for them and if i leave it on they will get almost exact as ambient. but the switch also turns the pump on. the fans help more in stop and go traffic or when the truck is getting good air flow.
the cool thing about a2w is you can put in an ice box and get way sub ambient temps. one time i dumped about half my ice box full and i was 10 below ambient which is like 43 degrees on a 52 degree night and the differenc it made was alot from sotp. if i had added more ice it would have been even colder. for a truck used at the track often i recommend an a2w set up . for a DD a a2a is nice because it wont suffer from heat soak as bad.

I don't think that with a A/A it would be worth it. A/W maybe, to help fight heat soak but thats it. With A/A, might make it a little cooler then not moving, but who cares if it's a bit warm then, as soon as you start moving, it will cool right off. They will probable be more of a restriction at speed also.
