fixing my fuel pressure issues FOR GOOD!

This was designed to keep the pump always in the fuel to keep it cool and keep fuel completely around the pickup so no air could be sucked in around hard corners or acceleration. since the new walbro pump does not have that extra pickup, i need to cut the bucket open to allow fuel in to keep the pump cool.

no, i have no replaced my FPR. i will do so this weekend.
do you have anything else to add to this topic? am i going down the right path with the manifold barbs? compared to mine, how does you fuel pressure look? i'm getting frustrated because everyone said oh just get a magnavolt and that will solve your problems. it did not.

My system read slightly low as well. Cranked the fuel pressure on the regulator a few turns clockwise and it was back in line.

do you have problems when your tank starts running low? please give me details on how much gas you can run in the tank.

. Other than that one instance, I never have any problems at all.The way I have mine set up right now (bucket drilled with a few 3/4" holes, pump filter within bucket) I'm sure that I'm missing out on a gallon or two. I'm going to eventually get around to setting the bucket up like BenKey has done. He cut the bottom of it out completely and mounted the pumps with the filters hanging out of the bottom.

I like th e3/4 hole idea, if I was to have done it in the past when I was replacing my stocker, that's how I would have done it. Although BenKey's is probably the best situation.
Doesn't really matter however you go about it, nail it with hardly any gas in there and there is physically no fuel there to suck up, I don't care if your pump pick up is against the tank. Just be careful now that you are "dangling".
You know, now that I think about, I have a question, these holes and Holty your square, are they in the front part of the bucket? You know so at least when you nail it the fuel is hitting the holes/cut outs as it rushes to the back?

UPDATE: truck is a little hard to start now, it cranks for a little longer than it did before. i'm saying this is normal since i have 0 fuel pressure key on engine off.
Yesterday my CEL came on. its throwing a P0452 fuel tank pressure circuit low voltage. Anyone know why this would happen? i cleared the code and it didn't come back right away, but i havn't had a chance to drive the truck.
