Finally dynoed! Need help
#21
Well I just had my 04 SSR dynoed not to long ago, Stock block 5.3 and it went 408 rwhp and 498 rwtq, With the alky on it didn't cool or change much as I am still not tuned for the alky yet, I made a run last week and my FA was 9.1-9.5 with the alky on and a et of 13.13 at 106 with a bad 60 ft of 1.9 stock tires on a slick track with a 5,080 lbs with gas and me

Did some more tunning today, still without the meth. It made 8lbs of boost and dropped off to 7lbs at the end of the pull. I am running 22 degrees of timeing and a 11.8 A/F. The new dyno numbers with a locked converter and the IAT sensor made so it wouldn't pull timeing during the dyno run are 430/460. Those a SAE numbers.

Really nice progress so far. I'm not suprised your not seeing the same boost as before. Your point about the larger engine and ported heads (not to mention the larger cam) not making high boost pressure is on the right track.
How is the truck idleing with that cam?

Can't get the idle squared away. The tuner had to put it at 900rpm's. This sound high to you guy's? Any lower than that and if your under the hod you can hear the blower chatter internally.
I had him lower the idle when in gear to 800rpms because with it at 900rpms in gear it felt like it was to much. Kind of felt like I was two footing it at the stop light. Although sometime it will want to stall or stall when comeing to a stop.
Ya, I dropped from a 3.0 to a 2.8 on the pulley and still see less boost than before the motor swap.
Guess I need a bigger blower.

Guess I need a bigger blower. It's stalling coming to a stop when it's in second; downshift it to first to keep it running. Your symptoms are strange, it sounds like you're running a stock converter but you have a 3000 in your sig
What are you getting for vacuum at idle?
You're not missing any vac lines either, right?
Check the details.

Personally, I didn't see the gains of a meth kit on the radix that everyone else sees. The drop in IAT's just wasn't there for me. I was able to add 3* of spark (I am assuming on the octane boost) before hitting KR. I run a 2.8" on a LQ9 with meth and run 19*. I occasionally see KR (nothing serious). I have timeing pulled at 140 IAT and up for the street, nothing for the track. I have 11.9AFR
IAT's for me are in the 130's typically in summer after a quick WOT hit. I have seen 180's before. Cruising, I see 35-40* difference in IAT's vs ambient temp.
FWIW, I can run the same timeing on a 2.9 vs the 2.8 with everything else being the same.
