I changed mine out to a 4" intake tube with a 4" intake K&N filter. Stretch a piece of panty hose over it for street use and everyday driving.

only if it was very restrictive. 2in of vacume will hurt your power but wont colapse the filter.

If you have a single turbo why not just run two filter? Easy fix really, even if they are dirty they will still out-flow one dirty filter..

I had to get a larger filter for the summer here -- believe it or not it is the difference between a lot of KR and no KR.

Get the bigger cone.

I "think" the STS kit comes with a RE-0930. K&N don't have any flow specs on their web page so I was just looking at how much oil the filter requiers to find the biggest one. so the stock RE-0930 which I have requiers 1.27 oz. (38 ml) My thoughts are more oil, more surface area, more pleats, less restriction.
I'm looking at the RC-5102, which requiers 6.53 oz (193 ml) of oil.

The one I have that came with the KB setup requires 5.03oz, I am thinking of getting a replacement like the second one you posted just to have two filters.
