How much will a factory 5.3l bottom end hold up under boost? What would be max that can be thrown at it?

 

That all depends on what you are trying to do... Get down the 1/4? Drive it every day?

Hot rod mag did a junkyard turbo build with what was thought to be a 5.3 but turned out to be a 4.8. I think they did around 1100 hp and they gave up. Couldn't break it. If I remember correctly the name of the build was Big bang theory. Pretty cool write up

 

Yea u can throw a lot at these ls motors its nice
