Default Exhaust sizing

So I have a question. So the progression of my truck is/will be slow, and will undoubtably go in stages. I will build it up initially N/A, but always with an eye towards F/I. At the moment I am torn between TVS 2300 or turbo. My question is this : would an aftermarket 3.5" cat back (like the magna flow 15121, that is specific for the 6.2) be enough for say a T76 or 88 ? The specific reason I ask is I don't want to buy things, only to then have it be worthless and obsolete for the next stage. Example, N/A (and w/ TVS) benefits greatly from LT's and good exhaust downstream. But if turbo is in the cards, headers are pointless. Would the cat back be also?

3.5" would be okay for a 76. An 88 would be better with 4" IMO.

You can always run a 4" cutout pipe necked down to 3.5" after if you want to go with a big turbo. 3.5" catback will be fine.

Thanks guys. So to continue with this, would a 6.2 be too big for a 76? Not gonna be a track terror pushing every limit and boundary imaginable, just a fun street truck/daily bomber that has some wheaties. Wasn't thinking of exceeding 10-12 psi.

Should work great, depending on which 76 you mean. There are several out there...

Well honestly, for that boost level and what you want to use it for, I would get a tvs1900. Will be cheaper and drive like a bat out of hell for a DD.

Ya, that's the other route. TVS, ARH LT's , and the same cat back. I'm weighing the costs of each. And the pros and cons of each. Probably for my heavy ccsb 4x4, the down low grunt of the TVS would be best. Then the headers will work with the preemptive NA stage and the blower.

Yep...soon the turbo guys will come in and say if you have a properly sized turbo the spool is almost instant. Well ive had both and "instant" and "almost instant" is the difference between "this is awesome" and "yea its alright". They are right, to a point, but any turbo with that kind of responsiveness will choke very quickly. Thats just how the physics work out.
