pretty much ever since i have heard the word turbo and been able to identify the awesome sound of one spooling i have thought about the semi truck turbo diesels and since then i have always dreamt about and wondered about going to a junk yard and stripping one of these HUGE turbo's off of one of those volvo motors and slapping that on one of our engines....is that possible? i know its ambitious and i doubt i'd be one to try it while im a broke *** student but COULD it be done?? reasonably....

Seriously though he's right. Those semi turbo's are sized for gigantic diesel engines not our measley little gasoline V8's. Besides I think if you got one off and in your hands, you'd realize that there's really not much room for one and all the assosciated plumbing under the hood of your truck. Those things are huge!

A Cat C-13 engine which make 525 hp and 1650 lb/ft of torque is a 12.5 liter engine.
BTW The new C-13's have twins and run around 40 psi of boost
I have to agree with everyones else. kb, that is a great way to put it.
