but its not worth it, if stupid people ruin the entire state.

The only issue with the blower is that its alot more expensive then building a remote mount turbo, and more expensive then the nitrous.

hey Blown chevy, would my truck be fail if i had the turbo installed in the exhaust after the cat, but not hooked up to the intake and tuned back to the oem settings?? Technically its not altering the emissions at that point...not anymore then a ghetto whistle.

If i can pass that way then i'd just do that, i dont mind being illegal between checks. CARB impedes on freedoms that other "equal" americans happily enjoy so i have no problem breaking that law

Nobody is going to tell you it is ok to break the law....

If the turbo is not 'connected' and your calibrations are stoc, then you will pass smog testing.

Sure, its not "ok" to break the law, but that doesnt mean he cant answer that the question of if it would pass.

Then all i gotta do is just keep my "fun" to the track.

you would'nt pass visual inspection..... this state blow but o well... and that one guy who called out blownchevy if you look in the box of a k&n or volant or any of the air intakes for these trucks you will find a little sticker that has an E.O. number on it.... without that sticker they wont even test your truck. well at least in my town they wont.

STS has carb legal kits, not sure about the colorado/canyon but they might be working on something, what year is your truck?

2004.

The funny thing is how i could legally swap in a 6.0 and a carb blower and pass smog every time, but "god" forbid i put a blower/turbo on this engine and make less pollution then a 6.0 without a sticker.

Just wondering how you think you can legally swap a 6.0 into that truck?

"light truck" is catagorized from light dutys to 1500s and you can swap any engine your year or newer and in the same class. So in theory i can legally swap over an SS silverado 6.0.

unless they have once again added a retarded stipulation to make this state that much more gay?

However personally i'll be content with a 4.8/5.3 swap for whenever this I5 bites the dust.

That is a skewed view of the rule. GM had a hard enough time getting the new Colorado's to pass CAFE and CARB. Trade yours in on a new 5.3L colorado and I will set you up with a blower since you would be the first

FYI, as much as I hate laws and regulations, take a look at the air you breathe. The "GAY" laws in this "GAY" state are keeping your lungs cancer free.

Let me start with the last paragraph....i live with proof. prove it or dont even attempt to regulate that ****. I'd like to see someone make a concrete connection to smog and cancer. Much like i'd like to see someone make concrete evidence to global warming. but you wont, because its hippy fear BS

Is there proof that those gay laws are making Ca less cancerous then the other 49 states?

I have no plans to trade my colorado. Aside from the sentimental value of it being my first truck paid for on my own dime. I'd also have to go with an automatic tranny for a 5.3 colorado. And automatics suck. These days i'm more tempted to just leave this terrible state.

swapping wont be an issue if the 5.3 colorado is produced.

How is it a skewed view of the law? The law is the law. When you swap it, you get a new door jam sticker so it would be smogged as a silverado SS.

I have an automatic 3.7 colorado work truck, and i cant stand to drive that thing in my off time, automatics just suck to drive around town.
