Default Do you like pie cuts?

Check out these new down pipes we have made.

We have welded together 26 small pie shaped cuts together to make one amazing down pipe.

What do you guys think about the new down pipes?

Looks pretty cool and a pain in the *** for whoever had to do all that fab work..What is the benefit or purpose of building a dp with the pie cuts over the traditional way?

Wow that's crazy looking!

What I'd like to see is someone pie cut a pipe that has an oval shape and use it for a bent to maintain the same amount of volume in the pipe through a bend. Essentially closing in the inside and outside diameters toward each other without sacrificing inner pipe volume the way a crush bend does. That's how to maintain steady flow through bends more so than "mandrel". That same effect can be seen here on this motorcycle exhaust.
