Default To do or not to do? turbo accessories

It has been a while since i have posted up on here about my turbo/lq4 build. We are finishing up our performance shop in houston and we will have some time to put everything together next month. i have all the parts to complete the truck but i just dont think stock 317's and a stock truck intake is going to produce all the power that i am looking for? i am going for a max efficiency truck at the drag strip but with stock internals. here is my setup

fresh 6.0 lq4
stock 317's
circle D 2c
342's
228/222 115lsa
kb front mount s475
60lber's
stock intake
50-75 shot out the gate
arp rod/head bolts

my question is, will the stock heads and intake ruin my setup? i was thinking of switching to a vic jr. and getting some mild port work on my head's somewere locally. my goal's for this truck were to run 10's consistently on a boost level the motor could handle.

what do you guys think? run a vic jr. and get a little bit of head work, or keep stock head's and intake?

The stock truck intake and heads will support well more then the stock bottom end will.

Remember that boost is a measure of the restriction prior to the cylinder. Anything that flows better will make more power with "less boost" provided the turbo can efficiently generate the airflow.

TJ's point, though, has to do with effort. If this is an all out, race effort, get some kick *** heads and a sheet metal intake to go along with your forged crank, rods and slugs. If this is a daily driver, spend your money wisely, where it will do the most good.

If you can afford a better manifold and just want one to make your setup as good as it can get, go for it. I wouldn't expect a whole lot from it, especially with stock heads.

Like TJ said, those stock parts will take you a long way. Like 750ish rwhp or maybe more with the right tune and meth.

If I were you, I'd spend the money on tune and meth kit (assuming you have a FMIC already).

I wouldn't worry about new heads or intake. Just stick with what you have

Yea I dont really see spending money on nice ported heads when only a stock piston could come apart and fubar your new ported heads.

spend your money on a good rear and tranny. If you were to spend all that money on heads and an intake you might as well build the whole damn motor.

if you choose to do ported heads fine, however stick with with the stock intake. The trade off of using the vic isnt worth the loss you get for drivablity off boost.

i wouldnt waste money on a rearend, this truck has gone 1.55's plenty of times and i have a feeling i wont be seeing 1.5 60's on this turbo setup. the tranny is already built to handle around 850rwhp.

i was looking for a max effort setup. i want to do what no one does. anybody can build a forged motor and throw 20 psi at it right? i realize if i get some aftermarket heads and fast/vic jr/pro flo, that will be enough money to buy a forged assembly but then i would just be another guy with a forged 370.
